　　The new series on Renaissance painting, written and presented by Matthew Collings, begins with an artistic investigation into one of the most radiant and beautiful images in all of art history, The Madonna of the Meadow, painted in 1505 - by Raphael.　　Renaissance art has become part of the 21st-century heritage industry but when Raphael was alive, it was a startling new form of visual expression, and Raphael's vibrant 'realism' was striking and fresh. It became the model for western art for the next 400 - years, right up until the birth of Modernism.　　As much as it was a cultural 'rebirth', the Renaissance was also a re册ution in ideas about reality. Matthew Collings sets out to remind us of how radical Renaissance paintings were when they were made, as well as opening our eyes to what is still truly great about them. In this programme he deconstructs The Madonna of the Meadow with the help of the very latest high-resolution digital technology, which allows him to explore the inner secrets of Raphael's painterly effects with a clarity and at a level of detail never before seen on television.　　As Matthew says, it is a journey 'to the other side of an illusion', revealing how Raphael created the alluring images that were so appealing to his wealthy Renaissance clients - including the Pope - and which entranced artists for centuries after his death. Filming has begun for Us, BBC One’s four-part drama adapted by David Nicholls from his hugely popular novel of the same name. Tom Hollander (Baptiste, The Night Manager) will be joined by Saskia Reeves (Luther, Shetland), Sofie Gråbøl (The Killing, Fortitude), Tom Taylor (Doctor Foster, The Dark Tower), Iain De Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Fades) and Thaddea Graham (Curfew, The Letter for the King), with casting by Sarah Crowe. It is produced by Drama Republic and Bandstand Productions. Douglas Petersen (Tom Hollander) is blindsided when his wife Connie (Saskia Reeves) tells him that she’s not sure she wants to be married to him anymore. Agreeing to still go on their planned family grand tour of Europe, Douglas vows to win back the love of his wife and repair his troubled relationship with their son Albie (Tom Taylor). Reflecting David Nicholls' signature mix of humour and heartbreak, Us brings the Petersens' poignant and often hilarious story to life, taking viewers with them on their once-in-a-lifetime journey through some of the most beautiful cities in the world. Thehalvesoftwobodies,onebelongingtoafemaleSwedishpolitician,arediscoveredinthemiddleoftheØresundBridge,whichconnectsCopenhageninDenmarkwithMalmöinSweden.Thebody,cutinhalfatthewaist,hasbeenplacedpreciselyontheborderbetweenthecountries,thusfallingunderthejurisdictionofboththeDanishandSwedishpoliceagencies.Afterfurtherexamination,itturnsoutthatthebodyisthatoftwoseparatecorpses,withonehalfbelongingtoaDanishprostitute.SagaNorén,fromtheSwedishside,andMartinRohde,fromtheDanish,leadtheinvestigationtocatchthemurderer.[4][5]Theinvestigationquicklyescalatesasajournalist,DanielFerbé,whosecarwasusedinthecrime,beginsreceivingphonecalls.Thecaller,whobecomesknownasthe"TruthTerrorist",claimstobecommittinghiscrimesinordertodrawattentiontovarioussocialproblems.Asocialworker,StefanLindberg,whosesisterbecomesavictimoftheTruthTerrorist,becomesanearlysuspect.However,eventssoonleadtheDanishandSwedishteamstoconcludethatthekillerhasconnectionstothepolice.Theydiscoverthatthecrimeshavebeenplannedoveraperiodofseveralyears.ThetraileventuallyleadsthemtoJens,aDanishpolicemanandformerclosefriendofMartin’s,whowasthoughttohavecommittedsuicideafteranaccidentonthebridgecausedthedeathsofhiswifeandson.Inthecourseoftheinvestigation,MartinandSagadevelopacloseworkingrelationship,althoughtheyareverydifferentpeople.Martinhasatwenty-yearoldsonfromhisfirstmarriage,August,whoisnowlivingwithMartinandhiscurrentwife,Mette,bywhomMartinhasthreechildren;afterMartinhashadavasectomy,Mettediscoversthatsheisexpectingtwins.Sagalivesaloneanddoesnotseemtofeelsheneedsaseriousrelationship,insteadpickingupmeninbarsforcasualsex.SheappearstohavesymptomsconsistentwithAspergersyndrome,resultingindifficultyestablishingrelationshipsandfeelingsofinadequacyinmanagingpeople;sherefusesapromotionforthislatterreason.Afterthekillerhasmurderedseveralpeopleandsuccessfullythrownredherringsinthewayoftheinvestigation,histruepurpose-tostrikeatMartinhimself-eventuallybecomesclear.Jens,nowcallinghimselfSebastianSandstrod,firstapproachesMette,whoissusceptibletohisadvances,afterlearningthatMartinhassleptwithCharlotteSöringer,awomanwhoisperipherallyinvolvedintheinvestigation.SebastianluresMetteandherchildrentoaremotespotwherehesubjectsthemtoaterrifyingordeal,lockingtheminwitharoomandgivingherahandgrenadewithitspinremovedtoholdaslongasshecan.However,SagarealisesthatAugustistherealtarget.Theinvestigationculminatesinaconfrontationonthebridge,whereshecannothelpbuttellMartinwhathappenedtoAugustandhastofireathiminordertopreventhimdestroyinghiscareerbykillingSebastian,thekiller’sfinalintention.
